Students are happy campers and spending the month of June reading s'more!

Forty-five students from Piedmont Elementary, New Market Elementary, and Mt. Horeb Elementary are spending the month of June at Camp Read S'More!  The theme of each week starts with the letters in READ.  During the first week, the theme is Rangers read about animals.  The second week's theme is Entymologists read about insects.  The third week's theme is Agriculturalists read about plants, and the final week's theme is Directors read scripts.

Students are divided into different cabins for fun activities related to reading and writing and the week's theme.  Students had a great time deciding on their cabin name.  Camp counsleors (teachers) have many hands on experiences planned for these campers.

Special thanks to Compassion Ministry for food boxes that have been donated to families of our campers!  Congratulations to Piedmont Elementary for receiving this Read to Be Ready Grant!  Happy Reading!  Happy Learning!
