Trip to DC

The Appalachian Electric Cooperative Essay is open to all Juniors. The Creative Writing Essay must be 900 words or less and will be due in late January 2019. Interested Juniors should see Brandy Arnold in Room 423 for information booklets or if they have questions.

The two (male and female) Jefferson County High School winners will join more than 1,500 students from all across America to take part in the Youth Tour experience. Students will travel to Washington, D.C., where they will meet their U.S. Representatives and Senators. This unique trip will give them the opportunity to watch history come alive as they explore the museums, memorials and monuments with students from their state. They will meet student leaders from nearly every state and hear dynamic leaders on Youth Day. Bottom line, they will make friendships that will last a lifetime and be part of a group that has more than 50,000 alumni in every walk of life including U.S. Senators and CEOs.
