Jefferson County High School History
Jefferson County High School was formed in 1975 when all high schools in the county combined to form the new high school with the motto of "PATRIOTS." The first school year began in August, 1975. The JROTC Program was also established as a new program of instruction at JCHS in 1975 as the "PATRIOT BATTALION." JROTC has been a highly successful program over the course of the past 35 years while teaching, coaching, and mentoring over 6,000 cadets. Our JROTC Program is currently designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction. Our JROTC honors itself on service to school, community, and country. Our cadets have not only learned the Army Values, but also live by them and are the future leadership of our country.
